Aghh Lisbon… I remember those 5 days spent there so clearly, don’t even know where to start. The city has such a vibe, it is really really hard to put it into words, which explains the thousands of photos we took and the length of this post. I think sometimes words are rather meaningless to describe our feelings, that is why this travel diary is all about visuals. It is all about the vivid and happy colors of Lisbon.
As I always try to include my style choices into my travel posts as well, this vintage gypsy skirt was the best thing I packed for my first trip to Portugal. The colors and its folklore print inspired me, not to mention how many adorable compliments I got that day from the locals. Now, I don’t really speak Portuguese, but I do understand when a compliment is involved and funny thing is my mother language, Romanian, has quite few similarities with the very joyful Portuguese. So yes, I did reply when it was possible with kindness in return, “obrigada”
Ivana Helsinki dress, River Island jeans, Begart clutch, Startas sneakers, Céline sunglasses
We visited Lisbon in spring and the weather was delightful, making it easily for us to walk for hours and not even feel our exhausted feet. Getting lost on the streets and not having a visit plan in mind was the best feeling in the world. We explored the city, but we weren’t looking to do the touristy things, because we knew already that one day we will be back there. We loved every second of it.
For a late afternoon walk I decided to wear a comfortable cotton dress from Ivana Helsinki over some ripped jeans, with my striped sneakers and my velvet clutch from Begart. Both urban chic and very practical. An extra layer would have been a good option, as it was quite chilly that day.
Hope you enjoyed this first part of my Lisbon diary, more photos and looks to come in part II, stay tuned!
